Do you remember the Secret Chocolate Bar from from back in the day? It was available in the 80’s and 90’s and I have to say it is a chocolate bar I sorely miss.
What Was the Secret Chocolate Bar?
The Chocolate bar consisted of a bird’s nest style chocolate outer coating and had a soft mousse filling similar to what you would find in a Walnut Whip. It came in a gold coloured wrapper which had a protective cardboard sleeve inside it to protect the delicate birds nest chocolate covering that could be quite fragile at times.
The logo for the Secret Bar was in a purple marker style font with a white outline.

Why Was it Discontinued?
Sadly due to the more complex production costs associated with the chocolate bird’s nest outer coating of the bar along with the necessary cardboard protective sleeve the bar was discontinued in the 1990’s. Compared to other popular chocolate bars the Secret Bar was expensive to produce.

The television adverts for the secret bar are very much of their time with two examples taking an espionage theme to tie in with the chocolate bar’s name. I have also found a third advert that is a very 90’s looking television advert with a gentleman seemingly trying to find the secret location of his love interest.
You may not be able to buy these bars anymore but you can find a selection of retro chocolate bars and sweets on Amazon.
